Ghasem Hajizadeh
Ghasem HAJIZADEH is an Iranian artist born in 1947 in Iran. Graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Tehran in 1967 where he began a promising artistic career. A few years after the Islamic revolution in Iran, more precisely in 1986, he was forced to leave Iran. He decided to settle in Paris where he could live and work freely. From 1992, the Iranian government forbade him to exhibit in art galleries in Iran. Ghasem Hajizadeh is one of the most talented, known, and recognized artists of his time. His work was during his artistic life exhibited all over the world and his talent praised. . Ghasem Hajizadeh's work is filled with a magical and colorful nostalgia, where one discovers faces and portraits of known or unknown people cohabiting in real or unreal landscapes, in striking aesthetic stagings. We discover the works of Ghassem Hajizadeh as we decode a dream, where time is blurred, where the real and the strange mingle and where the memories of the artist transport us and allow us to see the face of a dreamlike Iran which is also very real.
Ghasem HAJIZADEH est un artiste Iranien né en 1947 en Iran. Diplômé de l’Ecole des Beaux Arts de Téhéran en 1967, il débute une carrière artistique prometteuse. Quelques années après la révolution islamique d’Iran, plus précisément en 1986 il est contraint de quitter l'Iran. Il s’installera à Paris pour vivre et travailler librement. A partir de 1992, le pouvoir iranien lui interdit d’exposer dans les galeries d’art en Iran. Ghasem Hajizadeh est un des artistes les plus talentueux, connus et reconnus de son époque. Son travail a été au cours de sa vie artistique exposé partout dans le monde et son talent salué. Le travail de Ghasem Hajizadeh est empreinte d’une nostalgie magique et colorée, où l’on découvre émerveillé, des visages et portraits de gens mythiques ou inconnus cohabitant dans des paysages réels ou irréels, dans des mises en scène esthétiques marquantes. L’on découvre les œuvres de Ghassem Hajizadeh comme l’on déchiffre un rêve, où le temps est brouillé, où le réel et l’étrange se mélangent et où la mémoire et les souvenirs de l’artiste nous jouent des tours et nous donnent à voir le visage d’un Iran rêvé mais si réel.
